A pure expression of Grenache. Whether its duty is to be served during a river kayak trip, bistro menu pairing, date night, or calling in 'sick' to work because we're firing up the grill and enjoying the summer...there's a wine for that! Whether it goes by the name Cannonau in Sardinia, Garnacha in Spain, or just plain ol' Grenache it has satisfied both Peasants and Kings alike for the last thousand or so years. This is the most widely planted red grape in the planet yet so few in this country have had a honest to goodness varietal bottling of Grenache. Red fruit, wild berries and spice. Medium bodied, well balanced and food friendly. Fun loving is the best way to decribe Grenache, it is lusty but not moody, well behaived yet slighty unpredicatable, enthusiastic but relaxed, versatile and amicable to the end. If Grenache was person it would be one with the pick up truck that's always there to help you move, the person who hangs out till the end of the party and helps you wash the dishes, the person who let's you change lanes in traffic, it's that good. And as always, basket pressed, unfiltered, 20% new 80% neutral French oak.
