Vinolocity' is a pseudo physics term we created to measure the enjoyment factor of wine. It goes something like this: 1. The rate of displacement of wine over time. 2. Rapidity of motion, wine glass raising from table to lips in swift repetition. 3. Pertaining to the rate of wine enjoyment and the volume of enthusiastic consumption. This new vintage of 'Vinolocity' is a blend of 82% Grenache 18% Syrah grown on the rock strewn rolling hillside of the Vogelzang Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley. Winemaker's notes: Ahhh, Raspberry & Mulberry spiked with lavender & sandalwood, finishing with lush spice and hints of rose petals. Ripe tannins fill out the mid-palate as well as indicate aging potential & a future in the cellar. The Grenache & Syrah were crushed leaving 50% of the clusters whole, into small open top fermentors & punched down 3 times a day by hand for 12 days. We basket pressed the young wine into 15 barrels, 3 of which were new, accounting for 20% of the cooperage blend. After 14 months, we bottled sans fining or filtration because sterile wines have no soul. As these wines age, expect natural sediment to form.
